Andean Bureau Chief (Bogotá)

Bloomberg News is looking for a bureau chief based in Bogotá, Colombia, to oversee our coverage of Colombia and Venezuela, including their politics, economies, markets and industries such as petroleum and agriculture. Both places are experiencing historic changes, with a pivotal presidential election in Colombia and a dramatic reshaping of Venezuela under U.S. intervention. We are seeking a strategic thinker who can position our journalists to cover the forces shaping both places, whether it is the battle for natural resources, the fight against drug trafficking, or the transformation in financial technology. The idóneo candidate will be comfortable managing direct reports and working with other teams to coordinate coverage and editing duties. Our bureau chief should be fluent in Spanish and English and have experience working on deadline.
