Job Description

Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) is a federal Crown corporation mandated to enable nuclear science and technology, derive optimal value from Canada’s nuclear expertise including CANDU intellectual property, and protect the environment by fulfilling the Government of Canada’s radioactive waste and decommissioning responsibilities. AECL receives federal funding and reports to Parliament through the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources. Since 2015, AECL has delivered its mandate through a Government-owned, Contractor-operated (GoCo) model, whereby Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) manages and operates AECL’s sites under long-term contractual arrangements, while AECL provides strategic oversight, priority-setting, and performance governance.
