Building Inspector

ResponsibilitiesUnder the general direction of the Manager of Development Services, this position is accountable for providing technical building, engineering, and planning assistance in administering the regulatory functions of the Planning & Protective Services Division and for supplying technical support, relative to the creation, interpretation and application of technical data, engineering drawings and development proposals. Qualifications:Successful completion of a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma Program is required. A CET or a P.Tech Designation would be considered an asset.Two (2) years experience in a similar or related position is required.Demonstrated ability to deal with the public, contractors and officials of agencies and departments of government at all levels with tact and diplomacy.Detailed knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada.Working knowledge of standards relative to minor engineering works.Ability to use CAD software and equipment.Ability t...
