Job Description

Our federal government client requires the services of nurses who are certified members of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) and who belong to the Association des infirmières et infirmiers en soins podologiques du Québec (AIISPQ) to provide foot care to diabetic clients in the correctional institutions in the Quebec Region.

Tasks: 

Assess the patients’ needs, provide foot care, give advice and follow up on files. It must:i) Conduct a comprehensive assessment of health, habits and self-care, assess walking, shoes, pain, functional limitations, the risks of developing issues with foot health, skin and nail problems.ii) Provide foot care, which includes giving advice on self-care, referring to an institutional doctor, if necessary.iii) Give advice on how to relieve symptoms, prevent callusing and cracking, as well as on hygiene and safety.iv) Monitor foot health, document care and services, and ensure clini...
