Qualifications and Experience

: University degree in early child development or a 2-year post-secondary diploma in Early Childhood Education. Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators. Minimum of 2-3 years recent experience in related child care required with current working knowledge of child development. Assignments may include English and/or French classroom settings. Skills Required: Thorough understanding of early child development; Knowledge of elementary school operations; Thorough knowledge and understanding of the kindergarten curriculum and assessment practises; Demonstrate effective and ongoing professional communication with parents/guardians, all staff and students; Ability to use tact, discretion and good judgement; Demonstrated ability to remain calm and non-confrontational under pressure; Well developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills; Ability to work with minimum supervision within a multicultural env...
