Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 midwife to join NHS Fife maternity services. NHS Fife maternity is a modern, thriving unit handling approximately 3,000 births per year, with outpatient, community, and inpatient services including a Complex Care Consultant Unit, a Midwife Led Unit, a Planned Caesarean Section team, and an Induction of Labour Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist, lead, nurture and develop the maternity service, ensuring high quality, evidence‑based care.
• Provide direct patient care, including ante‑ and post‑natal support and level 1 National Transitional Care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of midwives, nursery nurses, maternity care assistants and other health professionals.
• Support education and training for the multidisciplinary team and act as a practice assessor and supervisor for student midwifery cohorts.
