Safety Specialist (Occupational Hygiene)

Main Purpose and Function

The City is seeking Safety Specialist who will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the City’s exposure programs. This position requires a background in exposure assessments, project management, program writing, statistical analysis, and risk communication. In addition to a strong background in Occupational Hygiene, the incumbent will possess effective written and oral communication skills to provide leadership direction on occupational hygiene topics.

In partnership with business units, or working within a specific area of program expertise, the position is responsible for ensuring that staff are engaged in their OHS statutory and corporate obligations so that a culture of continuous improvement grows and at minimum, compliance at all levels of the organization are maintained.
