The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a quality control inspector providing information on matters associated with personal property operations. This position observes, documents, and evaluates carrier and contractor performance in moving personal property of DOD personnel. Responsibilities Observes, documents, and evaluates carrier and contractor performance. Inspects contractor's performance at owner's residence and at warehouse during packing, crating, loading, shipping, unloading, uncrating and unpacking. Assures that loading and unloading is done in a way to prevent damage and that contract specifications are being followed. Counsels members regarding policies and procedures for the proper preparation of personal property for shipment and/or storage, including specialized items, to domestic and overseas locations.
