Overview
UNU‑WIDER invites proposals for research papers on income inequality for the World Income Inequality Database (WIID) project. The papers should address inequality trends, drivers, and impacts, and may contribute new methods or improve the database.
Scope and Topics
- Empirical and theoretical analyses of the drivers of economic inequality trends and patterns globally, and in specific regions or countries.
- Impact of economic inequality levels, trends, and patterns on socioeconomic outcomes such as wellbeing, labour markets, conflict, governance, welfare state, trade, etc.
- New methods to better understand the income distribution, its causes or implications at country or global levels.
- Innovative proposals to improve the quality and quantity of information in the WIID, alone or with other data.
